Sadly, it's the end of a video voting era as GAC-TV's charismatic Top 20 Country Countdown host Nan Kelley announced Friday that after 13 years at the helm she will no longer be the wonderful familiar face of Top 20. Below is what she shared in an emotional Facebook post. Be sure to tune in and/or set your DVRs as she bids farewell. The final show is scheduled to air December 22nd, 23rd and on Saturday the 29th all at 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. central. She will be greatly missed. It does not seem that the countdown will continue without her (and really, why should it bother?). Browse through memorable show photos here.

Nan Kelley via Facebook
"For over a dozen years, I've hosted the Top 20 Countdown on GAC and I've loved every minute. With this weekend's airings, we say goodbye and thanks, as our show signs off the air. What a ride it's been-full of lifelong memories. Thank you to the artists and their teams for the interviews and the friendships. Thanks to the Nashville music community for the support in the good times & the tough ones. And to those who really made it happen--the crews, both past and present. You're the ones who made this show-and me-look and sound great through your talents. GAC, thank you for this opportunity. And lastly and most importantly, thank YOU the viewers. Without you, shows wouldn't exist. Making a connection with you that was real and sincere has always been the most important part of the job for me. Your emails, cards and letters of support for me and the show have truly meant the world to me! Thank you. I won't be exiting the TV world. You can catch me on QVC, representing the Le Creuset brand and looking forward to other projects in the works. I wish all of you a happy, healthy 2019!!!"

I don't understand why the Top 20 Countdown stops just because Nan Kelley left the show. What the hell?

What? GAC is incapable of finding a new host for the Top 20 County Countdown? It was decent weekend viewing and I looked forward to it, when it was at a decent time frame. GAC get it together!!

Good questions. Nan IS special but unfortunately yeah sure seems like GAC has no excuse except maybe that they're just THAT lazy. Sad to see the lost potential of that channel.

At least with CMT there are still two different countdown shows - - and their 12-pack (just videos; no hosts like their Hot 20 has with Katie Cook and Cody Alan) has videos that are actually fan-voted and include some not really seen anywhere else.

Steven - Yes, the 12 pack is on CMT's "CMT Music" channel. (Used to be called "CMT Pure"). Should be channel 145 if you have Comcast/XFinity. Otherwise I'm not sure where it would be channel-wise. On Friday nights and a few other times throughout the weekend. Hope this helps you. http://www.cmt.com/shows/cmt-music-12-pack-countdown

Sad that since we have music stations on tv we no longer get to have Country music on TV. I loved watching GAC country videos then they changed to all shows like lake front living etc CMT started having shows a little at a time until there is more tv sitcoms and movies than Country music. My daughter use to sit in her swing in front of the tv and watch music videos and she loved it so did I when cleaning the house or just wanted to see what the video was saying the song meant. So it just sucks we hardly ever have the old way the country music use to be on tv a close to an era that was amazing.

Debbie I feel your pain. Whatever happened with GAC is a tremendous shame...so strange and sad how they've become basically nothing more than some sort of home improvement channel. I loved the shows like "Country Music Across America" and the specials with Suzanne Alexander that they used to air. Good news is there ARE still some country video channels you might not know about! Regular CMT has the Hot 20 Countdown and still shows videos outside of that every once in a while too (admittedly not enough). More importantly, depending on your TV provider you may be able to watch their "CMT Music" channel (formerly known as "CMT Pure"). THEY show videos 24/7. And they have a FAN-VOTED countdown called the 12-pack. They show a lot of videos and a good mix of old and new. There's a channel called The Country Network that's worth looking into. They even have an app (https://www.prweb.com/releases/the_country_network_launches_tcn_streaming_app/prweb16697176.htm).  Definitely look into Heartland TV too if you haven't before! They stream online plus on TV (https://watchheartlandtv.com/home) . RFD-TV (https://www.rfdtv.com/shows) is another option, they have some cool original music shows and even air some old Grand Ole Opry broadcasts! Mostly it's outdoor/farming shows but there's some special music content too. Speaking of the Opry - check your zip code at circleallaccess.com to see if you can watch "The Circle Network" which just launched! https://www.thecountryclubonline.com/home/oh-the-places-well-go-circle-tv-network-takes-shape-new-launch-steps-in-steps-out-and-has-a-laugh-out-loud-good-time-with-nan-kelley-hee-haw-stand-up-comedy-elizabeth-cook-and-landmark-return-of-the-grand-ole-opry

They will be broadcasting new Opry shows, FINALLY bringing it back to TV! They have Hee-Haw reruns. And a LOT of other artists have their own shows in the works for the channel. :) Hope this helps you!

I'm sure ya'll got the message that there are many people out there was kind of traumatized by this puzzling decision, I'm not sure if you're being honest with us. I think there's something else that happened to just all of a sudden the show just goes off the air? No GAC no CMT, no more videos. That's how we saw the artists, buy the music and vote! I'm sure it's hurting their exposure and bottom line. This doesn't make any sense to me, after all these years, no more videos. Unbelievable!

Gwen, The Country Club is not affiliated with any of these networks. This site has no connection or way to communicate with them. We don't control anything. Sorry if you've thought otherwise. We're plenty disappointed about the network's direction too! If there is anything else that caused the show to go off the air we don't know it either! Not sure why you said no more CMT? CMT is still around - they have music video shows also. You can vote for the Hot 20 Countdown and they show lots of new music on their separate "CMT Music" channel where you can vote in their 12-pack countdown.

PS - You might want to read this news from June. GAC is under new ownership so they *could* be making a turnaround soon. https://www.thecountryclubonline.com/home/finally-something-new-to-discover-on-gac

    About

Hi. I'm a member of the country club. Country Music is what I love.

Are you somewhere that you don't belong? Without a jukebox and a country song? Maybe you came here seeking a nice, bright, sunny, resort-y kind of place. The kind of place festooned with ferns. Maybe this was even your LAST resort. We hope not. But don't worry, we still have the best of intentions with this blog - you might not find a lot of tennis but we still intend to raise a racket now and then. (In other words --- although you will sometimes find press releases here we net ORIGINAL content too).
