Foul Play? Nope! Joe Nichols Hits One Out of the Park with "Home Run" Official Music Video Debut: Teams Up with CMT for Exclusive Premiere

This is no foul play: Multi-platinum Quartz Hill Records artist Joe Nichols debuts the official music video for his latest single, the multi-meaning “Home Run,” today, Monday, November 15. The video world premiered on CMT this morning and will continue airing throughout the day on CMT Music. Fans can also check out the moving video at CMT.com.

Filmed in and around Nashville including the Music City Baseball field, and directed by David “Doc” Abbott, the “Home Run” music video chronicles a day in Nichols’ life on the road and the sweet reunion with his family – wife Heather and daughters Dylan (9) and Georgia (7) – as he returns home on his bus.

“This video really captures the lyrics of the song, those moments of me working and out on the road and getting to come home,” says Nichols. “I love that my family is in it. I loved having my wife and my kids, my mom, and my sister in it.  That’s what I really miss when I’m out on the road.  It’s the first time my wife, Heather has been in one of my videos so that was a lot of fun.”

“Home Run” was penned by award-winning songwriters Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson and Ross Copperman. The song marks Nichols’ first new music since his 2018 EP, Never Gets Old: Traditional Country Series, and the first music since reuniting with veteran label head Benny Brown with whom Nichols enjoyed two multi-week No. 1 singles, the RIAA Gold-certified hits “Yeah” and “Sunny and 75” from the critically-acclaimed album, Crickets.

The video premiere follows the announcement of Nichols’ long-awaited new album, Good Day For Living, releasing on 2/11/22. The 13-song collection, his inaugural project with new label home and tenth studio album, ushers in a new era of classic-influenced country music from one of the format’s most-lauded 21st-century traditionalists.

His first new full-length project in four years, Good Day For Living reunites Nichols with acclaimed music producers Mickey Jack Cones and Derek George, who helmed his 2013 album Crickets containing back-to-back number 1 GOLD-certified hits "Sunny and 75" and "Yeah.” Cones also produced Nichols’ follow-up album, critically acclaimed Never Gets Old.

In addition to his newest single, "Home Run,” the album features “Screened In,” (out now).  "I Wanna Be Your Tonight" (available 12/10) and the title track," Good Day For Living” (available 1/28).  The entire project is a no-doubt nod to Nichols’ traditional roots, showcasing his smooth baritone on Saturday night dancehall stunner “Brokenhearted,” the light and fun “I Got Friends That Do,” featuring Blake Shelton, and the classic country tear-jerker “She Was.”

Carter Releases Re-Recordings, Brand New Digital Material Commemorating the 25th of remembering "...when 30 was old"

November 5, 2021 – Today, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Deana Carter’s 5x platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?, Capitol Records/UMe released 25th Anniversary Editions of the groundbreaking album. LISTEN NOW and BELOW see new exclusive footage of Carter reflecting on her debut album and the staying power of “Strawberry Wine”.

Picture
Carter is also releasing a new music video for the remake of her breakout 2x platinum, award-winning, debut hit single “Strawberry Wine.” WATCH HERE (or below). From Carter’s signature songbird vocals and the piano intro that instantly takes you back to 1996, to the sonic sounds of country artists Ashley McBryde, Lauren Alaina, Kylie Morgan, Martina McBride, Vince Gill and the reimagined arrangement, Carter has outdone herself this time around. The girl power in the recording studio is as pure as the song itself, with glimpses of the emotional artists at the mic, the finest Nashville session players, and the bottle of bubbly to celebrate the session when they finished. The behind-the-scenes look was shot at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville.

The song -- co-written by Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison -- has stood the test of time; which is a testament to the power of a well-crafted story song and to Carter’s stunning voice. Even as a newcomer in 1996, Carter was able to waltz right in and reach No. 1 with “Strawberry Wine.” Her very first single off of her very first album went on to be named the Country Music Association’s Single of the Year and Song of the Year in 1997, and “Strawberry Wine” was also nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Country Song, the Academy of Country Music Awards for Best Country Song,  and the Country Music Radio Awards for Song of the Year. The official music video from 1996 is full of nostalgia and was directed by Roger Pistole.

The 25th anniversary editions of Carter’s album being released today from Capitol Nashville/UMe have been remastered from the original recordings and will be released on CD with two bonus tracks, as well as a Digital Deluxe with an additional ten songs, seven of which will be available digitally for the first time.CLICK HERE TO ORDER EITHER FORMAT.

“These new versions are a way of raising a glass to everyone who loves these songs, and to the country radio stations still playing them, and to say thank you. I hope everyone enjoys celebrating 25 years of Did I Shave My Legs for This? as much as I've enjoyed putting together these very special releases,” Carter shared.

Carter will be celebrating the album’s release when she headlines a one-night-only show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on November 18, with special guests Charles Esten and Breland, as well as appearances by Terri Clark, Kylie Morgan and more surprise guests. Tickets available HERE.

“It is such an honor and a career highlight to finally headline the Ryman, our sacred Mother Church, especially being a Nashville native and growing up in the industry, knowing that my dad, Fred Carter, Jr., performed on that stage with so many greats,” Carter says. “And all falling within the 25th anniversary re-release of my very first album Did I Shave My Legs for This? on UMG Nashville. It is a ‘pinch-me’ moment now, and it will be on that super special night, too.”

In addition, Carter will be hosting a virtual listening party to let the whole world hear the album today (November 5) at 2 p.m. CT. Join HERE. And later this month, on November 16 at 8 p.m. CT, Carter will be chatting with fans about the 25th Anniversary Edition on Talk Shop LIVE, hosted by Kelly Sutton. Join that chat HERE.

EDDIE MONTGOMERY'S DEBUT SOLO ALBUM, “AIN'T NO CLOSING ME DOWN” RELEASED OCTOBER 29, 2021

AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY AT WALMART.COM - ORDER NOW

PEOPLE.COM PREMIERES NEW SONG AND VIDEO, "MY SON"

"Ain’t No Closing Me Down,” country superstar Eddie Montgomery’s debut solo 12-track album, will be available exclusively at Walmart on October 29 via Average Joe's Entertainment. Available for order at Walmart.com, the new album was produced by Grammy-award-winning producer Noah Gordon and award-winning producer, Shannon Houchins. “My Son,” featured on the new album and in new American Western film Old Henry premiered on People.com.

Montgomery Gentry’s sound is at the heart and soul of Eddie Montgomery’s album. The Wild Bunch, Montgomery Gentry’s band for the past 20 years, played on the recording sessions for the new album and provides both a tribute to Montgomery’s late partner, Troy Gentry, as well as a sonic bridge to carry out his legacy well into the future.

“Troy is with me and will always be with me. He helped me write this album,” remarked Montgomery who wrote on eight of the 12 tracks. “I got together with some of my best songwriting buddies and we wrote about life – the good, the bad, the ugly, and the party on the weekends."

The title track is a rock-driven, honky-tonk offering that addresses Montgomery’s outlook for the future; “Alive and Well,” “sings about resilience in the face of adversity,” (Rolling Stone Country), and “My Son” featured on the soundtrack of a new American Western film, “Old Henry,” is a cautionary tale from a father to a son. Highlights on the new album also include “Higher,” a duet with country royalty Tanya Tucker; “She Just Loves Me,” a love song to his wife  - the first love song Montgomery has ever written; and “Ain’t She Beautiful,” an incredible ballad co-written by nephew Walker Montgomery.

    About

Hi. I'm a member of the country club. Country Music is what I love.

Are you somewhere that you don't belong? Without a jukebox and a country song? Maybe you came here seeking a nice, bright, sunny, resort-y kind of place. The kind of place festooned with ferns. Maybe this was even your LAST resort. We hope not. But don't worry, we still have the best of intentions with this blog - you might not find a lot of tennis but we still intend to raise a racket now and then. (In other words --- although you will sometimes find press releases here we net ORIGINAL content too).
