Charlie Daniels Has Died.

Well. It's official. No one is untouchable. Despite new music and planned upcoming Volunteer Jam, Charlie Daniels has suffered a stroke and passed away. This entry could be something we'd work on steadily for a full 24 hours and it wouldn't even come close to making a dent in what made Charlie Daniels, Charlie Daniels. Why bother? It would not cover a cent's worth of what everyone who admires him has to say. But this place is designed to be a site for those who love Country Music. So, the original long-haired country boy Mr. Charlie won't be left alone (and would probably find me and give me a good old-fashioned fiddle-lashing if I didn't mention him). So here's some thoughts below (including a last few from the very Christian "devil" of a man himself) and if you have any sweet memories to share please do comment. We love you Charlie Daniels. Thank you.

My heart is crushed today after hearing that my dear friend Charlie Daniels has passed away. Charlie was the first legendary artist to take me under his wing and encourage me when I was first getting started in the business. He was always there for me when I needed him. I have so many great memories of touring, performing, writing and recording with Charlie, but my favorite memories are of simply talking with the man when it was just the two of us alone. Farewell dear friend until we meet again. Thank you for being such a friend, mentor and inspiration to me. I will always be grateful. My deepest condolences go out to the Daniels family, friends and fans.

Charlie Daniels was the epitome of a Southern gentleman. He was kind, welcoming & so sweet. Playing “Devil” with him will forever be a highlight of my life. The Devil is Pissed as Hell with how loud the angels are rejoicing in Heaven. I’ll do my best to make you proud. ✨□ pic.twitter.com/kRkAAMR9nM

Heartbroken from the news of my friend @CharlieDaniels passing this morning. Heaven's gate opened wide as that golden fiddle was laid in his hands. So much respect for Charlie. The musician, the songwriter but mostly, the man. You will be missed. God bless your life & legacy. pic.twitter.com/jtgYsdOX6q

All my life, there has always been Charlie Daniels. A childhood hero, an inspiration, a mentor and my friend. The best that’s ever been. Thank you for EVERYTHING. My heart could not be more broken right now. If only I could see the smile on your face right now as you go home. I’ll miss you. □□

    About

Hi. I'm a member of the country club. Country Music is what I love.

Are you somewhere that you don't belong? Without a jukebox and a country song? Maybe you came here seeking a nice, bright, sunny, resort-y kind of place. The kind of place festooned with ferns. Maybe this was even your LAST resort. We hope not. But don't worry, we still have the best of intentions with this blog - you might not find a lot of tennis but we still intend to raise a racket now and then. (In other words --- although you will sometimes find press releases here we net ORIGINAL content too).
