"SHE'S OUT!" seasoned country artist Emily Miller exclaimed - in this instance "she" being both a proud new recording and also Mary, the mother of Jesus.

"Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?"

Victoriously adding to the hundreds of artists to cover these and other lines of this beloved Christmas classic with-a-twist-tale on the immaculate conception. Miller delivers.

The
WSM Radio Spotlight Artist songbird's unique ethereal-esque tones bring a special rasp to the recording that you may not see coming. Not so much a growl (even the animals watching over Him likely learned not to growl around the baby Jesus), as a reverent strong tone which could be likened almost to that of a slightly bolder "Climb" era Miley Cyrus (said with only the best of intent). In fact, Miller had a literal "come to Jesus" moment in this recording process...not only in its revered storied subject matter but in thanking God for the ability to even hit the notes to praise Him in the first place: "I know there’s a reason that kiwi almost killed me. It was to teach me to slow down and take this voice God has given me as a true blessing."

So, yes. You might say it was an uphill battle, a climb if you will - to even get made in the first place and it's a small miracle this thing actually hit the presses.

If you've never before heard "Mary, Did You Know?" then you might want to be prepared to invest some time in doing so. Its writer Mark Lowry was a member of the Gaither Vocal Band at the time and after its initial recording by fellow Gaither member Michael English (with music by tourmate Buddy Greene), the Biblical creation and its benevolent wonderment has landed in the hands of many more messengers in its travels. So popular that Lowry closes his show with the song (Christmas show or no), "Mary" has since spread to hundreds, including via duet with Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd, a well-rotated radio cut for Kathy Mattea, to Dolly Parton and even CeeLo Green on the journey.

    About

Hi. I'm a member of the country club. Country Music is what I love.

Are you somewhere that you don't belong? Without a jukebox and a country song? Maybe you came here seeking a nice, bright, sunny, resort-y kind of place. The kind of place festooned with ferns. Maybe this was even your LAST resort. We hope not. But don't worry, we still have the best of intentions with this blog - you might not find a lot of tennis but we still intend to raise a racket now and then. (In other words --- although you will sometimes find press releases here we net ORIGINAL content too).
